DMC stands for Deep Meaningful Conversation and that’s exactly what we are offering in our clinic. Something that is often spoken about at the end of the first counselling session is how it wasn’t what was expected, or it wasn’t has hard as they thought it would be. There is a common misconception that counselling and psychotherapy is very clinical and only for those who have severe mental health concerns but in reality counselling and psychotherapy is for everyone and it isn’t much different to the deep and meaningful conversations you have with friends and family. Some of these differences are that we are qualified and trained to not only really listen but to help support you to find understanding and tools to cope with what is causing you distress in your life. The conversation is solely about you and it is in a non-judgemental, confidential and unbiased space.

The DMC Clinic, originally Solas Counselling Services, was established in November 2017 and provides mental health support to children, teenagers and adults. The DMC Clinic is based in the heart of Wexford Town in an easily accessible and private setting. It is located on the 1st floor of 48 North Main Street in The Bullring and offers a varied range of different mental health services. All mental health professionals attend regular workshops and training to continue to add to their areas of expertise. To ensure best practice and duty of care for all clients all mental health professionals abide by the Code of Ethics under their accredited body guidelines and when required attend regular supervision with a qualified and accredited Supervisor.  All our qualifications are also QQI certified.

Meet the Team

Ruth Swaby

I decided to re-brand and expand Solas Counselling Services to The DMC Clinic for many reasons. What started off as one therapist in one room has now grown to many more rooms with a team of mental health professionals. With this brought more services, more support and more expertise. The reason for the name change is simple. As much as I love the name Solas, a new venture brings a new name.

I am an accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with the Association of Professional Counsellors & Psychotherapists (APCP). I have a BA in (Hons) Psychology with Waterford Institute of Technology, a MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy with Irish College of Humanities & Applied Sciences (ICHAS) and a Professional Certificate in Child and Adolescent Counselling and Psychotherapy with Institute of Integrated Counselling & Psychotherapy (IICP). I really enjoy what I do, and I feel privileged to be able to witness so many strong and courageous people working on their mental health. We all need a little extra support at some point in our lives, so I do my best to offer a safe and non-judgemental space to give this support.

Ber Quinn Fahy

I am passionate about my work and consider myself very lucky to work with such brave and amazing people. I am a kind, caring, and compassionate person and in my work there is no judgement and I know from my clients that they say I am a very caring, non-judgemental person and a great listener.

We all go through difficult times in life and sometimes it is just really difficult to cope, however I am here to help and we can work through anything together. I look forward to working with you in the future. If you need someone to listen and help I am here for you. Take care.

Caroline Bannister

I also have a Professional Certificate in Couples Counselling with The Cherished Family Project.

I use an integrated approach in counselling to deal with issues we can encounter throughout our life. I find no approach suits everyone so I will combine tools and techniques for each client on an individual basis. I also use different forms of art therapy to help clients to express themselves when a client is happy to do this.

I provide clients the space to be heard in a non-judgemental way. I enjoy watching clients grow and encouraging them to recognise their own potential. Change can be a challenging process and sometimes it requires support along the way. This is what I aim to provide clients with.

Siofra Hall

I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist. I have a BSc in Applied Psychology from the Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, Dun Laoghaire (IADT) along with an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences, Limerick (ICHAS).

I provide a warm, non-judgemental, and safe space for my clients to easily express their thoughts and feelings. I am passionate about working with individuals that are going through difficult times and encouraging them to find the strength within themselves to grow through their adversity

I look forward to meeting you so we can begin the journey of growth together.

I firmly believe that when someone shows courage, strength and determination to speak out about their difficulties, that they need someone who fully listens to their story, can put themselves in the persons shoes and truly understands what they are going through.

Eva Murphy

I am a Gestalt Psychotherapist H.Dip. and I trained in the Gestalt Institute of Ireland. I am a member of the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy.

” We don’t get wounded alone and we don’t heal alone”
                                    Carl Jung
My goal as a therapist is to raise my clients awareness regarding how they function in their world. To help them see more clearly their situation and how they are a part of it.
I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space. I’m passionate about supporting people on their journey of self discovery and helping them live a fuller more authentic life.

Karla Bell

I have a BA (Hons) degree in Theology and Psychology, a Hdip in Counselling and a professional certificate in the Therapuetic Use of Mindfulness. I am a certified Vinyasa Yoga Teacher.

I am a person-centred counsellor, specialising in relationships. I am passionate about helping people heal their relationship with themselves. I work both with individuals and couples. As it’s the relationship that is built between counsellor and client that really does the work I aim to provide a warm, honest and non-judgemental space. I use many different modalities in my work and believe in an individualised, client-led approach. This empowers and educates people to continue their own journeys of accepting themselves long after counselling has ended.
